PAUL DOYLE MITCHELL, age 84, a U.S. Navy Veteran and resident of Irving, Texas, died Monday, October 10, 2022, surrounded by friends and family. Born in July 1938 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Paul (known as PD in his early years) is the second child of Todd and Bennie Mitchell, who resided in Dallas, Texas, until their deaths. Paul cherished the Lord, loved his friends and family deeply, and found joy spending time driving sports cars, motorcycles, and riding bicycles. An avid runner and swimmer, Paul was active his whole life, and battled his illness with a positive spirit and a humble attitude. He leaves behind his daughter, Donna (husband Brent); his grandchildren, Austin and Alex, who could not be more proud of their grandfather for his humor, kindness, and intellect; and Connie, his fianc. PD will be laid to rest next to his son, Billy Mitchell, at a graveside service at 3 pm on October 17, 2022, at Bear Creek Cemetery in Euless, Texas, with Pastor Dr. Doug Fox presiding. The administrative and clinical staff at Baylor Scott & White - Irving, Texas, impressed PD during his hospitalization, and he expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation for the care he received.
