Patricia Ann Holmes Conner, 72, entered eternal life on Friday, March 26th, 2021 at 8:10pm. Affectionately known as "Mimi", Patricias loving spirit is carried on by her two daughters, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, her brother and an extended network of family and friends from every walk of life.
Born at the Florence Nightingale Maternity Hospital in Dallas, Texas on December 8th, 1948 to her adoring parents Fredrick Oliver and Alice Rosalie Newman Holmes, Patricia grew up in the Lakewood area and attended Woodrow Wilson High School. She went back to college later in life and earned a Masters of Rehabilitation Science Degree from the University of North Texas. Extremely passionate about helping others, Patricia continued to work as a Rehabilitation Case Manager up until early March of this year.
Being "Mimi" to her grand and great grandchildren brought the greatest joy to Patricia's life. She cultivated an individual and very special relationship with each of them. Oh, the crazy shenanigans she allowed those kids to pull her into! Mimi left each of her grands knowing deep within their souls how much they were valued, adored and treasured by her. She encouraged them to dream big, and never let anyone stop them from chasing their dreams. She was also very proud of her two daughters Amy and Angela, and always let them know how much they meant to her.
Patricia developed a love for decorating, inspired by her lifelong friend Becky Schultz. She was always crafting her own decorations and used her free time to create a palette of beauty that surrounded her and her loved ones. When not doting on her grandkids or crafting, she loved spending time with her best friend of fifty years, Lana Lambert, talking on the phone to her partner in crime, Donna Simonelli, or having girls nights with her friend Kaye Wilson that she has been friends with since she was 15 years old.
Patricia moved into a Senior Apartment Community a few years back, and before long shed developed many sweet friendships at West Fork Village. She was a beloved member of their community, and you could often find her in the craft room, at bible study, working at their store on Wednesday afternoons, or writing articles for their community newsletter. Whenever there was a day trip, she was first in line to get on the bus. One of her favorite things was going out to eat, and her friend Joni Smith made sure that she always had a ride to get where she needed to go and an ear to listen to what was going on in her life.
To speculate on how much she will be missed, by so many, will only serve as a gross underestimate. We are all so deeply grateful for her legacy of love.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Alice Holmes. She is survived by her brother Fred Holmes, Jr., Sister-In-Law Terri Fox Holmes; Her daughter Amy, and Son-In-Law Aaron Simonelli; her daughter Angela, and Son-In-Law Kirk Greer; Her grandchildren Christopher Williams; Alyson Nelson and fianc Ben Cordero; Demond Rice, Jr. (Monty) and his fiance Melody Quiro; Robert Nelson III (Trey); Kanyon and Korban Greer and Her great grandchildren Gracelyn and Liam Rice. Patricia had numerous cherished nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
