Nebraska "Ned"
Evans
Mar 16, 1936 — Apr 17, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Nebraska "Ned" Evans, age 90, of Irving, Texas. He passed away at his home in Irving on Friday, April 17, 2026, surrounded by loving family.
Nebraska was born on March 16, 1936, in Tuscumbia, Alabama, to Omaha and Blanche (Willingham) Evans. He carried with him the values of family, hard work and kindness throughout his life, touching the lives of all who knew him
After a brief time at the University of Texas at Austin, Nebraska enlisted in the United States Marine Corps to serve his country. After completing his Military service, he joined Peerless Manufacturing as an Analytical Engineer. It was there he met the love of his life, Pam. After marrying on March 26, 1966, they enjoyed 52 years of marriage.
Nebraska enjoyed doing his favorite things; golf, traveling (anywhere with a beach), playing the drums and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pam Evans, his parents and his sisters, Sarah Ashburn and Sue Lasater.
Nebraska will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loving family: his daughters, Tami VanHoy (Darius), Cathy Ryle (Bryan) and Missy Funk (Jeff); his cherished grandchildren, Evan, Allie, Matthew, Micah and Austin; and his eight great-grandchildren, who brought him great joy and pride. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and devotion that will continue to live on through them.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 25th at the Colonial Funeral Home of Irving Chapel, 606 W. Airport Freeway. Family and friends are invited to visit from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
He will be dearly missed and always lovingly remembered.
