Nancy Ann Graham King, a long-time community resident of Irving, peacefully passed away, on Friday, October 21, 2022 at the age of 90. She was born in Macomb, Illinois on June 30, 1932, the daughter of Joseph B. Graham and Margaret Katherine Elting Graham Crone. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of forty-one years, Charles Marion "Charlie" King; her parents; her stepfather George Crone; and two stepbrothers, Art & Richard Crone. Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Don King, Cheryl Morris and Cindy Yarbrough & her husband Alan; six grandchildren, Chris King & wife Shelby, Melanie Klausmann & husband Aaron, Mackinzie Morris & husband Justin, Monika Whitsett & husband Jesse, Cassidy Klarquist & husband Anders, and Cory Yarbrough; eight great-grandchildren, Caroline & Presley Klausmann, Molly & Reid Morris, Tucker & Sage Whitsett, Korbin & Kaeden Klarquist; a half-brother Gary Crone & wife Naomi: and half-sisters Mary Jane Friday & husband Jim, & Melanie Graham-Pieri. Nancy & Charlie relocated to Texas in 1951 during the years Dad was in the military, stationed at Fort Worth Carswell Air Force Base, where Don and Cheryl were born. Cindy was born in 1955, during a visit back to Macomb, Illinois, before deciding to make Texas their permanent home. Nancy got a secretarial job at Chance Vought (where she eventually retired after 37 years). After some unsatisfying corporate jobs, Charlie decided to try the restaurant business, opening Angelos Spaghetti & Pizza, in Feb of 1966 (and the legacy was born!). Nancy hosted there most weekends for over 30 years. After retiring as a full-time executive secretary, she helped Don in the back office, as he continued to run Angelos and the other family businesses. She enjoyed growing plants, and loved, watching her kids and grandkids as they grew and touched milestones in their lives, making sure she attended every event, big or small. After Charlie passed in June of 1992, she was truly the matriarch of the family for decades.... Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home (606 W. Airport Fwy.) in Irving. The service will also be live-streamed.
