Mildred O'Neal, 96, of Irving, Texas passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at her residence. Her funeral will be 1:00 PM, Friday, May 3, 2024 at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel of Irving. Friends and family may visit from 11:00 AM until service time, Friday, May 3rd, in the funeral home. Dr. Jim Gerlach will officiate, her burial to follow at the Oak Grove Memorial Park in Irving. Mildred was born, July 18, 1927, in Caddo, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Grady and Lillian Benedict Zachary. Mildred married the love of her life, Hughey O'Neal, Jr in May 5, 1945 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, together Mildred and Hughey moved to Irving in 1949. She has been a longtime member of the Oak View Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, and 7 siblings. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Patricia "Patty" Scroggins and husband, Charles, Danny Ray O'Neal, Hughey O'Neal, III and wife Terri and Renae Cook and husband David; brother, Gene Zachary; 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
