MILDRED GANELL BARRIER, age 88, a resident of Grapevine, Texas since 2012, formerly a long time Irving resident, died Thursday, September 12, 2013 at a Southlake care center. Born March 16, 1925 in Rising Star, Texas, she was the daughter of Walter Scoggins and Neddia Brasher Scoggins. Preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Kenneth Barrier, Ganell is survived by her son, Gary Barrier and wife Alyson of Grapevine; grandson, Gary Duner Barrier, Jr. and wife Melissa; granddaughter, Tammy Fugitt; great grandchildren, Lauren Fugitt, Grace Barrier, Kate Barrier and Jake Barrier; brother, Harry Scoggins and wife Harriet of Muenster; sister, Juanita Rogers of Pampa; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in Vernon, Texas at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA, or the American Heart Association.
