Mila was born in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines on December 24, 1942 to Medardo Fegidero Toledano and Paz Inez Toledano. She was born at home as the Japanese occupation of the Philippines prohibited any one from being out on the streets after sundown. She died peacefully in her Lord Jesus Christ early in the morning of January 9, 2018 after a short but intense battle with melanoma of the liver.
She graduated in 1963 from the University of Negros Occidental Recoletus with a BSE in Guidance and Counseling and a minor in Home Economics. She worked as a Guidance Counselor in the main public high school in Bacolod City before her marriage in 1967 to Robert B. Reichelt, a Peace Corps Volunteer assigned to the same school. She moved to the United States in 1967 with her husband. Over the next few decades, she lived in Cambridge, MA, Houston, TX, Lutherville, MD, Westfield, NJ, London, England, Stamford, CT, Irving, TX and Brussels, Belgium. She enjoyed spending time in their flat in London, the family home in Bacolod City, Philippines and recently in a newly acquired cottage on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. She and her husband traveled the world extensively, enjoying and learning from the cultures of over 100 different countries.
She was an extremely talented homemaker and lover of crafts, be they 100% hand-made quits, crochet baby blankets for friends and for hospitals, flower arrangements and cooking. She delighted in helping out in various ways in every church she attended over the years and many locations.
Mila is survived by her husband Robert of 50 years, her sister Ma. Serena Santiago Toledano, her brother Vicente Santiago Toledano and loving nieces and nephews.
