Merle Buck, 85, a resident of Irving since 1970, passed away at a local hospital on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. She was born on August 16, 1932 in Manning, Arkansas to Earl and Lela (Everett) Porter. Merle was a member of First Baptist Church since 1972. She worked in the Irving Independent School District as an attendance clerk for 15 years. She is preceded in death by her parents and two grandsons, Ben and Andrew Buck. Survivors include her husband, Richard; sons, Jerry and wife Denise of Hurst, Ken and wife Lea Ann of Mesquite, and Robert "Neal" and wife Anngela of Bedford; grandchildren, Lauren Austin and husband James, Ryan Buck and wife Carrie, and Lindsey Williams and husband Braz, Brittany Buck, and Aaron "Neal" Buck and wife Betsy; great-grandchildren: Parker and Sydney Austin, Leah, Ty, Rhett, Sloane, Jaxon, Davin, Zaiden and Quinn Buck. Also survived by a brother, Elton Porter and wife Nelma of Benton, Arkansas; sisters Katie Keeton and husband Hancel of N. Little Rock and Nancy Freeman and husband Tommy of Arkadelphia. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 3rd at 2:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary at First Baptist Church Irving, 403 South Main Street, Irving, Texas 75060. Wayne Watkins will officiate. Merle will be buried at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas on Tuesday, July 3.
