With great sorrow we announce that Melinda Sue Murphy has passed away on August 25, 2025. at the age of 81.

Melinda Sue Kemp was born in Mineral Wells Texas on September 29, 1943 . She attended Mineral Wells High School and married her high school sweet-heart. Tommy Murphy and Sue lived in Washington DC, Austin, Wichita Falls, and finally Irving, TX.

In Wichita Falls she attended Our Lady Queen of Peace parish where her growing family took up an entire pew.

She was an active member of the Wichita Falls Right to Life Committee in the 1970's. She was also a Midwestern State University Faculty Dame.

The family relocated to Irving in 1984 where Tom and Sue have attended Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church for 40 years. In her retirement, she was a member of the Altar Guild.

Sue worked for Pepsico South in Dallas for 16 years, retiring in 2004.

Sue and Tom have been regular attendees - and grateful members - of the Mineral Wells High School "50 Year Club" where they have enjoyed the company of many lifelong friends.

Sue Murphy is survived by her husband - of 63 years - Thomas William Murphy and six sons: Michael Scott, Mark Edward, Matthew Erin, Marshall Patrick, Mason Thomas, and Mitchell Andrew. She is survived by 14 loving grandchildren: Tommy, Bridgid Thomas, Michael, Paul, Christina, Natalie, Nico, Belle, Colin, Ian, Olivia, Ashley, Noelle, Abigail and by her loving sister Kassandra Jane (Kemp) Berry.
