MAURICE HONEA, age 79, a resident of Irving since 1965, died Saturday, October 19, 2013, at his home. Born July 26, 1934 in Frost, Texas, he was the son of James Walter and Ruby Cecil Honea. Married to Lynn Talley Herring July 29, 1967 in Irving, he worked at J.I. Case as a parts manager for 32 years before retiring in 1991. He was Baptist. Preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Arnold, J. W. Jake, and Bobby Honea, survivors include his wife Lynn of Irving; sons, Tommy Herring and wife Velma of Irving, John Herring and wife Angela of Hickory Creek, Jim Herring of Dallas, and Russell Rusty Honea; and a granddaughter Emylee Herring. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Service is 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 24 in the funeral home chapel.
