MARY SCHLEIF, age 90, a resident of Irving for 60 years, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in Irving, Texas. She was born October 10, 1925 in Athens, Louisiana, to Robert Blanks Prestridge and Bessie Thompson. After losing her mother at a young age, Mary was raised by her aunt and uncle, Mary and Lacy Nunn in Columbia, Louisiana. She married Richard Schleif in 1954, was a Southern Lady and homemaker. Mary was a member of the Irving Garden and Arts Club and Irving's Book Review for many years. She was an avid bridge player. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Schleif in 2005; her son, John Schleif in 1985; sister, Betty Inbau; and brothers, Bob Prestridge, Albert Prestridge, Hamilton Prestridge and Francis Prestridge. Survivors include her daughter, Marcy Martinez and husband Abel of Irving; sons, Bruce Schleif and wife Brenda of Irving, Rick Schleif and wife Donna of Cedar Hill; sister, Jodi Branch; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Mary spent her final months in the loving care of VIP Living Center in Irving. She can now dance to her heart's content. Family will receive friends 6:00 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 8, at the Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 W. Airport Freeway, Irving, Texas. Funeral service 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the funeral home Chapel, Pastor Curt Krohn will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E.
