MARY LAVOYCE GIDDENS, age 78, a resident of Irving, TX passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2014. Born June 24, 1935 in Delta County, Texas, she was the daughter of Woodrow and Mavis Stanley Giddens. LaVoyce was preceded in death by her mother, Mavis Stanley Giddens in 1970, her father, Woodrow Giddens in 1975 and her brother Hiram Stanley Giddens in 1983. Survivors include her sister, Sandra Giddens, brothers Vaughn Giddens and Zane Giddens, nieces Elizabeth LaVoyce Hood, Jody Giddens Bickerstaff and Lauren Giddens Dunnet, nephew Jonathan Wilson Giddens and great nephews Milton Hood III, Brody Bickerstaff and Phillip Michael Dunnet and great nieces Linsey Carmichael, Briley Bickerstaff and Olivia Zaine Dunnet. She grew up in the Cooper, TX area and graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1953. LaVoyce was the Executive Officer for the Irving Board of Realtors from its inception in 1974 until her retirement in 1998. Prior to this she worked for the Dallas Board of Realtors for several years. She loved her family, loved life, loved sports cars and rock and roll. Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be on Sunday, January 26 at 3:00 PM at the Ben Franklin Methodist Church in Ben Franklin, TX.
