It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Martha Whitman Cannon, 95, of Irving. She passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 25, 2026, in her residence in Irving, TX. She was born on December 27, 1930, in Malakoff, Texas, daughter of James T and Iva Johnnie Adams Whitman.

Martha retired from the Irving Independent School District after more than 35 years of dedicated service.

Her funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Colonial Funeral Home of Irving Chapel, 606 West Airport Freeway, Irving., with Chaplain "Paul H" Family and friends may visit from 9:00 AM till service time in the funeral home chapel, Friday, February 6th.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 54 years, Daniel V. Cannon, daughter, Janice Gravitt, Grandson, Michael James Cannon and Great Great Grandchildren, Michael J. Cannon, seven siblings and her grandparents Naomi Tennessee Adams and George Vernon Adams

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Carolyn Wylie, Philip W. (wife, Beverly) Cannon and Kyle (wife, Jackie) Cannon; grandchildren; John Allan (wife, Darcy) Evans, Jennifer Evans (husband, Todd) Hoffman, Jamie Evans, Steven (wife, Nichole) Allen, Jeff Allen, Amber Allen Molina, Brandon Allen, Karl Cannon, Jonathan (wife, Jenni) Cannon and Chris ( wife, Alexa) Hughett; 15 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. Martha was also survived by her son-in-laws, John Gravitt and John D. Evans.
