Marscelene "Marty" Vandeman, 96, a resident of Irving since 2013, died Friday, September 9, 2022 at a local care center. Born August 17, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Otto Baumgart and Evelyn Preuss Baumgart. She was the widow of Harold Stuart Vandeman. They lived in Torrance, California for over 50 years. She was a retired US Civil servant working with the United States Air Force. She attended First Baptist and Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving. Preceded in death by her parents Otto and Evelyn Baumgart; a brother, Ivan Baumgart; a son Steven Vandeman; a granddaughter Michelle Vandeman; and her husband Harold, she is survived by two sons, Gary Vandeman and wife Marti of Santa Barbara, California and Craig Vandeman and wife Gina of Irving; five grandchildren, Melissa Trujillo and husband Israel, Dirk Vandeman, Dan Thompson, Steven Vandeman and Don Hughes and wife Olga; two great grandchildren, Braedon Trujillo and Kamryn Trujillo; a sister Marnette Johnson and husband Orval of Sacremento, California; a nephew Bryan Johnson and his wife Lana and their son Brendan of Sacremento; and a niece Elena Castillo of Torrance, California. Family services will be held in California.
