Obituary

Marissa Martinez Meza, age 42, passed away unexpectedly on July 10, 2015. Marissa was born in Laredo, Texas on February 7, 1973. After graduating from Nixon High School in 1991, she moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas. She lived in Austin until she became a resident of Irving, Texas in 2005 where she married the love of her life, Jaime Meza. She is survived by her husband of 8 years, Jaime A. Meza, her beloved parents, Carlos E. and Ana M. Martinez of Round Rock, Texas, her brother Carlos A.(Narcelina) Martinez and her two nephews, Marco and Cruz Martinez all of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Marissa adored her family and friends and was equally adored by them. Marissa never met a stranger. Her beautiful smile instantly befriended everyone that came in contact with her. She lit up every room that she entered and could easily turn a bad day into a good one just by being there. She was a kind and caring person who went out of her way to make people feel loved and was always ready to help anyone in any way needed. She loved life and enjoyed spending all her spare time with not only her family, but with all her friends. She also enjoyed trying new recipes, knitting, watching movies, reading, and was a great football enthusiast. As charismatic as Marissa was, it is not surprising that she spent over twenty years in the beauty industry working with customer service. Her smile and her hugs would go a long way in her workplace to make customers feel welcomed, heard, and at ease. Marissa will be greatly missed and will forever be loved by all those whose lives she touched. We will celebrate her life on Saturday, July 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving, Texas. Everyone is welcomed to come and honor Marissa. May the Lord have her in HIS Glory, and may she shine even brighter in heaven.
