Maria Elena Herrera Soliz, 81, of Irving, Texas passed away on April 17, 2026 at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center of Irving. She was born on January 24, 1945 in Robstown, Texas. She spent the remainder of her retirement spending time with family, going thrifting, visiting farmer's markets and of course the Casino. She loved the outdoors which included swimming, camping, fishing and gardening. In her early teens, she worked in the cotton fields in Texas and Minnesota. In her adult years, Maria worked for Music & Sound and Abbott Laboratories where she retired from in 2010 after 20+ years of service.

Maria preceded in death by her, mother Maria Florentina Gallegos (1912-1979), father, Domingo Herrera (1910-2001), and her sister, Maria (October 1937-July 1938). Survivors include daughter, Diana Barrientez of Irving, daughter, Leticia Herrera Kenner with spouse Brian of Ohio, grandchild, Landon Kenner of Ohio, grandchild, Skyler Kenner Melendez with spouse Keaton of Ohio, and great grandchild, Luca Melendez.

There will be 2 visitations for Maria. The first visitation will be in Irving, Texas and the second will be in Seguin, Texas.

1st visitation will be Saturday, May 30, 2026 11:00 am-1:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home of Irving 606 W. Airport Freeway (Hwy 183) in Irving, Texas

2nd visitation in Seguin, Texas will be determined at a later date.
