Obituary

Marguerite Bell Snead was born in Wilmington, Delaware to Lelia her mother on May 26th, 1948. Marguerite spent her early years as a military child abroad in Germany, with her mother Lelia, and her father Joe Ross, a staff sergeant with the US Army. Marguerite returned with her parents to the New York area where she studied initially in the New York school system before eventually moving to the Dallas area where she graduated. Upon graduation, Marguerite worked in New York at a place called the "Music Building", home to up and coming musical artists, among them was Madonna and that friendship/client relationship provided and interesting note when she gained employment with Four Seasons Hotel and Resort in Irving TX, where she worked for several years. Marguerite found out that Madonna had a concert in Dallas and asked to visit Madonna at her suite. Her version of the request to see her: Marguerite: "Madonna is in the hotel, and I would like to visit her." Management: "You dont know her." Marguerite: "Yes I do, I was a guard at the Music Building in New York, check my resume." "Call her." After calling the room, the manager was surprised when Madonna gave her permission to come up. Marguerite: "I told you I knew her." During the visit, Madonna, wanted Marguerite to go on tour with her, but Marguerite said in her own unique way, "Girl you too wild." (Needless to say, I was grateful). Marguerite moved from Four Seasons to her eventual passion as a contract security guard stationed at DFW airport where she retired. Marguerite and Ron met at Irving Mall in early summer of 1989, and married on September 17, 1989, at 11:30 in Mt Olive Baptist Church in Arlington TX. Marguerite and Ron joined Ben Washington in April of 2001 under Pastor JR Sheppard. Marguerite served faithfully in many ministries at Ben Washington Baptist Church among them: Deaconess Youth ministry Volunteer Vacation Bible School (teacher) Sunday School (as part of a team presenterTeam Williams) Sunday School TeacherPre-K Prayer Ministry W.O.V.E.N. (Women Of Virtue Embracing Newness) There was a ministry that was uniquely her own, and that was the card ministry which encompassed, birthdays, bereavement, get-well, consolation, and encouragement. One of her favorite sentences was, "we need to get a card for Sisteror Brother" and there we go. Her compassion was heartfelt and all who knew her had an opportunity to experience it. In addition, she had a special passion for the children as a Sunday School teacher. I have always said, the parents never knew how much she loved those children, and how much she invested in them. Marguerite and Ron lived a specially and spiritually bonded life for 34 years. Marguerite, the Love of my life, passed peacefully on February 17, 2024. Marguerite, an only child, leaves behind a Father, Joe Ross; a son, Michael; a loving husband, Ron Williams; and a host of family, friends, and loved ones particularly the BWBC church family. Thank God for His Grace and Thank God for His Mercy. Thank you, Family, friends, and well-wishers, for the Love we both had/have experienced through the years.and now.
