Obituary

On Saturday October 20th, 2018. Margie Meador Mullins, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 83. Born to Joe and Grace Meador from Grayson County on December 6th, 1934. She was one of ten children. Margie is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Hugh "Cotton" Mullins. Survivors include her only son Johnny Mullins and daughter-in-law Torrie; granddaughter Brittany and grandson Zach; three great-grandchildren Jacob, Jaxon and Reagan; and her only remaining Sibling Billie McHenry; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Margie spent most of her working years in the Candy and Tobacco Distribution industry, managing offices for Southwest Cigar, Texas Wholesale, Trinity Distributors, Eli Witt and Core-Mark Int. Margies private life was a marriage of 45 years to Hugh "Cotton" Mullins, celebrating life and family, and taking small trips together and with her sisters. They enjoyed their time together; raising their son Johnny and watching their family grow welcoming grandchildren and great grandchildren. Margie enjoyed dining out, and buying clothes and gifts for the kids. She was always independent and willing to learn new things and expand her abilities. In quiet times, Margie often loved to read, study and view the natural world. She had a passion for nature, birds and small native animals. On a cold day you might find her bundled up with a hot tea watching silently out the window as birds and squirrels came near her home to feed on what she had put out for them. Even though the last few years were difficult health wise for her and her familyshe is in a wonderful place now. She enjoyed a full life. She loved and was loved. We are thankful for the special time we had with her. She will be remembered and missed greatly. May the Lord bless her Soul. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 24 from 6-8 p.m. at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway, Irving, Texas 75062.
