Obituary

Margaret Peggy Pinson passed from this life on Sunday, December 30, after a progressive illness. She was born October 3, 1921, in New York City, to Ernest A. and Margaret Hutson Powers. Peggy is the wife of Cloyde C. Pinson, Sr. Father of the Dallas-Ft.Worth National Cemetery who preceded her in death in 2006. She is a Sunset High School graduate and long-time resident of Irving. Before marriage, Peggy worked at the Federal Reserve Bank in Fort Worth where she met Cloyde working in the Air Force recruitment office in the same building. Peggy was an Air Force wife as she and her family lived in many parts of the U.S. After settling back in Dallas, she worked 16 years for Sam P. Wallace Mechanical Contractors as secretary to the President and Vice President. Upon retirement, she continued her real job for which she was very highly qualified. Peggy held a PhD from the School of Loving Mothers and Grandmothers and her family was the fortunate beneficiary. Her hobbies included bridge, needlepoint, reading, and a host of wonderful friends. She and her husband were active members of St. Stephens Presbyterian Church in Irving. They were also active in many Veterans organizations. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Brown Wallace; granddaughter, Wendy Wallace Tiedt and husband Chad; grandson, Patrick Wallace and wife Lindsey; three beautiful great grandchildren, Margaret and Drew Tiedt, and Colt Wallace. She is also survived by her nieces, Carla Thompson and Susan Stricklin of Huntsville, Alabama, and Toni Tufo of Palm Springs, California; and her nephew, John Berry of Owasso, Oklahoma. In addition, she is survived by her loving caregivers without whom our journey would have been much more difficult. Thank you, Sandy, and moms guardian angels, Cerise and Emily, for the kind and gentle care you gave our mother. God bless and keep you always in the cradle of His arms, my mother and our Gammy. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Service is 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2013 in the funeral home chapel. Burial service will be 4:00 p.m., Friday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Texas National Cemetery Foundation. (TNCF, P.O. Box 210606, Dallas,TX 75211-0606).
