Margaret Ann Chumney, 76, a long-time resident of Irving, Texas, died Friday, September 24, 2021. Born July 13, 1945 in Gatesville, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Kirby Harrington and Annie Arrowood Harrington. She met the love of her life, W.C. Chumney, in 1963 at a dance in Pottsville, Texas and they married on April 29, 1964. They were members of Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving. She worked in the hotel industry, but as a side hobby they both shared a passion for collecting antiques.
Preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Chumney on June 30, 1995, her parents; brothers, Bob Harrington and Charles Harrington;and sister, Helen Clifton, she is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Stringer and husband, Jeff Stringer of Arlington; sister, Judy Palmer and husband Tim Palmer from Minneapolis, MN; four grandchildren, Caitlin Linehan and husband Charles Linehan from Fort Worth, Candace Rohrer and husband, Jacob Rohrer, of Brownwood, TX, Hannah Stringer from Arlington, TX and Joshua Stringer from Fort Worth; one great-grandson, Hudson Matthew Rohrer, of Brownwood, TX. She was longing to meet her great-granddaughter, Maeve Elizabeth Linehan, who will be born in October. She is also survived by her lifelong best friend of 70 years, Myrtle Pollard of Gatesville, along with a host of dearly loved extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery in Euless.
