Mae Marie Preston Burket, age 82, a longtime resident of Irving, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 2, 1928 in Delta County, Texas to the late D. J. Preston, Sr. and Annie Estelle Hutchins. On November 1, 1947, she married Thurman Wesley Burket in Weatherford, Texas. For 52 years, they owned and operated Farmer Boy's Market in Irving. Preceded in death by brothers, Ray Stanley Preston and Pierce Preston, she is survived by her husband, Thurman "Tubby"; children, Anna Tipton and husband Pat of Irving, Terry Burket and wife Rhonda of Roxton, Linda Burket, Deborah Norton and husband Dennis, all of Irving, Sherry Brauchler and husband Dave of Euless; grandchildren, Krisana and Patrick Tipton, Chad Avery, Amy Burket, Kyle and Alyssa Norton, David Brauchler III, and Rhett Brauchler; three great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, D. J. Preston, Jr., James T. Preston, Leroy Preston, John Preston, Mary Vaughan, all of Paris, Texas, Douglas Preston of Hill Top Lakes, Ann Lamb and Gloria Fitzgerald, both of Paris. The family will receive friends at a visitation to be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Abundant Life Church, 1520 West Wall Street in Grapevine. Interment service 10:00 a.m., Saturday at Lake Creek Cemetery in Delta County
