Obituary

EDNA LOUISE SHARP, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrville. Born July 29, 1940 in the home of her great aunt and uncle in Teague, Texas, she was the daughter of Joe Lincoln Sharp and Jessie Ezell Sharp. In 1941 the family moved to Waco where she started school. In 1949 they moved to Bellmead where she completed high school in the LaVega School System. After working several years, she decided to continue her education. She commuted from Fort Worth to Denton and in 1973 earned her Bachelor degree in Social Work from Texas Womans University. She worked a number of years in adoption and maternity, traveling throughout the state to pick up babies being placed for adoption. In the late 1980s she moved to Big Spring and changed her career focus to the mental health field. She loved to cook and was quite good at it. She was an avid reader and enjoyed searching archives and historical records for her ancestors. Her crochet projects were given away. Many nursing home residents have enjoyed her scarves, shawls, lap robes, and afghans. She loved all her pets throughout the years and always had a soft spot for four legged creatures. Louise had a deep and abiding faith in God and accepted Jesus Christ as her savior as a child. She had no fear of death because she knew her way home by heart. She is survived by her sister, Sandra Sharp of Ingram; numerous cousins, friends, good neighbors and by two kitties that adopted her, Baby and Britches. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2018 at Shanks Cemetery in Freestone County near Teague. SERVICES Graveside Service
