LOIS MARTIN, age 89, a resident of Irving since 2005, formerly of Hurst, Texas, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in an Irving nursing center. Born November 14, 1921 in Randelett, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Andrew Montgomery Bowles and Bessie Jane Covey Bowles. Lois grew up in Comanche, Oklahoma. In 1972 she married J. T. Martin. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2009. A brother, Mont Bowles also preceded her in death in 2003. Survivors include her daughter, Jane LaPlace of Irving; grandchildren, Sherre Holtzman, Tony Joel Davila and wife Leigh; great grandchildren, Seasyn Ruvalcaba, Ashley Holtzman, Stefanie Kelley, Michael Davila, Zachary Holtzman; and seven great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2011 at the funeral home. Graveside service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Friday at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
