LINDA K. TAYLOR, age 72, a lifelong Irving resident except for a few years spent in Mineola, Texas, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at home. Born August 17, 1940 in Gainesville, Texas, she was the daughter of William M. Smith and Bonnie Barron Smith. Linda was a teacher in the Irving ISD and Mineola School District for 30 years. She was past president of Irving Christian Club, active in Texas Teachers Retirement Association, a member of Piney Woods Counselor Association and St. Dunstans Episcopal Church in Mineola. Preceded in death by her parents and Tommy Taylor in 2011. Survivors include her son, Kyle Taylor and Cydney Roberts of Irving; daughter, Kaye L. Taylor Morris and husband John of Quitman; grandchildren, Jaclyn Morris, John Morris, Jr., Grace Allen-Taylor, Olivia Allen-Taylor; brother, Jimmy Smith and wife Gloria; niece, Becky Tatarevich; and nephew, David Smith. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving.
