Lester E. Smith, 88, a long-time resident of Irving, died at his home in Wills Point on April 30, 2018. Lester was born on October 12, 1929 in Palmer, Texas to the late Thomas Hamilton and Pauline Victoria Jeannette Smith. He was one of ten children. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lee Smith; son, Forest Smith and wife Kathie of North Richland Hills, daughter Louann Stroup and husband John of Princeton; daughter-in-law, Toni Smith of Oklahoma City; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. He is also preceded in death by son, Weldon Smith. Lester was a member of First Baptist Church in Wills Point. The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway, Irving, Texas 75062. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Don Meyers and Rev. Barry Boatwright will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 East Irving Boulevard, Irving, Texas 75060. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association. SERVICES
