LESSIE ESTELLE BROOKS PITTMAN, 89, went home to be with the Lord on January 26, 2008. She passed away peacefully at Baylor Medical Center in Irving. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family and friends, Lessie was born February 9, 1918, to the late Lyman and Mattie Brooks in Mill Creek, Oklahoma. In 1934, Lessie married her sweetheart Jim Pittman who preceded her in death in 1973. She is survived by her daughters Shirley Dunaway, Marguerite Warren and husband Marvin, and Nancy Grisham and husband Bob; five grandchildren James Warren, Jerel Warren, Jay Dunaway, Robert Grisham, and Julie Grisham; two great-grandchildren, James Warren, Jr. and Thomas Warren. Services were 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2008, in the Heritage Chapel of the First Baptist Church of Dallas with Dr. Robert Jeffress officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
