Lecil A. Moore (Lee), 81, a resident of Irving since 1965, died Tuesday at his home after a brief and aggressive cancer illness. Born August 28, 1939 in Sweetwater, Texas, he was the son of the late Doyle O. Moore and Weta Alexander Moore. He married Mary Tee Moody December 24, 1957 in Coolidge, Texas. He worked in information technology with AT&T for thirty years and later operated a technology assistance business for personal computer owners. A member of First United Methodist Church of Irving and a member of Band of Brothers and the Kum Doubles Sunday School Class.
Lecil was an Amateur Radio enthusiast for over 20 years; achieving an advanced FCC Radio License. His call letters were WA5EYS. He also enjoyed many years of off-road motorcycle riding with his family and friends. Later, Lecil and Mary Tee enjoyed fishing and lake activities with their children and grandchildren at their lake house at Cedar Creek. Lecil was a jack-of-all-trades and master of many. He could build just about anything...including a master bedroom, two decks, and a utility room to name a few. Electrical wiring was a natural talent for him; also overhauling engines on their cars, lawn mowers, boats, and motorcycles.
Lecil's family would like to thank all of his customers of Lee's Computer Solutions over the years for trusting him with their technology needs, and making meaningful relationships along the way.
Preceded in death by his parents, a son, Andy Moore, and a granddaughter, Madison Moore. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Tee, a daughter Anna-Lesa Dodson and husband Larry of Southlake, a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Moore of Tonawanda, New York, a grandson, Daniel Dodson and wife Lea of Keller, a granddaughter, Melissa Wilson and husband Travis of Saginaw, and three great granddaughters, Cora, Grace, and Hannah (and one great granddaughter, Rebecca, on the way).
The funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at First United Methodist Church, 211 West Third Street in Irving. The honorary pallbearers are the members of the Band of Brothers. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 East Irving Blvd. Rev. Sammy Hargrove and Rev. Doug Fox will officiate.
