Obituary

Lawrence was an avid fisherman, loved playing poker, pool, and cribbage. He was a master storyteller -some of those stories were even true! Donna was the love of his life and he was looking forward to spending life on the other side with her. They were married 50 years when she died in 2001. Together they had three kids, Kathryn, the firstborn bossy one, then Larry (Lawrence, Jr.), the great outdoors man he loved fishing with, and Celeste, whom he nicknamed "Bunny" because her first birthday was on Easter. Lawrence lived independently in a senior community until shortly before his death. He was a hot commodityhe had a car and was sometimes hit upon to take other residents to buy hearing aid batteries or help them make a liquor store run for a barbeque on someones patio. He loved watching his six grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren grow up and always wanted to keep up with what was going on in their lives. Most of all, he loved all of us and we all loved him right back. He knew he was loved every single day, just like we wanted it and just as it should always be. A simple graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2020 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 East Irving Blvd. Father Richard Bezzegato will officiate. Burial with U S Navy honor will follow under the direction of Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Lawrence died peacefully in his sleep, Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at his daughters home.
