Laura Mathena Holmes of Irving, died on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the age of 51. Born February 1, 1965 in Dallas, Texas to Troy and Helen (Whitehead) Mathena. Laura had been a teacher in the Irving Independent School District since 2007. She is survived by her parents, Troy and Helen Mathena; daughters, Mallory Holmes and fiance Tyler Barnes of Indianapolis, Indiana and Alexandra Holmes of Irving; sisters, Evie Chance of Irving, Debbie Scarborough of Euless, Marla Gallemore and husband Myles of Irving, Julie Davis and husband Jerry of Irving and several nieces and nephews. Laura was a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Dallas. A Memorial Service was held on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Fellowship Bible Church, 9330 North Central Expressway, Dallas, TX 75231.
