Laura Elizabeth Allison DeHaes, born in Monroe, Louisiana on July 29, 1911, entered eternal life on March 18, 2011. The daughter of Agnes and Rupert Allison, they lived in Oak Cliff where Laura graduated from Oak Cliff High. She met and married Louis Phillip DeHaes in 1928 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Irving where they made their home. Their retirement was first spent running The Golden Horseshoe north of Durango, Colorado, then spending much time with their many friends and family from Durango and Texas. Laura served with St. Lukes Altar Society and the Irving Heritage Society. Laura also loved dancing, enjoying many nights with her friends in the Dallas area. Laura will join in Heaven her husband Louis; her daughters, Laura Louise DeHaes and Suzanne Rives; her son, Louis DeHaes; and daughter-in-law Sheila DeHaes. She is survived by her grandchildren, Alyson DeHaes, Louie DeHaes (Kelly), Julie Marczak (Mike), Randy Smith (Kathy) and Drew DeHaes (Dorothy); great grandchildren, Paige Reagan and Spencer Blackburn, Mallory, Madison and Megan DeHaes, Laura, Rachel and Paul Marczak, April Pyle (Will), Hanna and Haley DeHaes; great-great grandchildren, Hayden and Trinity Reagan, and David Pyle. Laura is also survived by son-in-law, Richard Rives and daughter-in-law Jenice DeHaes. The family would like to thank Laura's caregivers. A rosary will be held on April 7, 2011 at 7 pm at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on April 8th at 10 am at St. Lukes Catholic Church in Irving, where the DeHaes family is one of the founding members. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Altar Society of St. Lukes and the Irving Heritage Society.
