Larry Gene Howerton, born in Hico, Texas, and a resident of Waxahachie, took his final bow on June 17, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born to the late Wylie Eugene and Maggie Naomi Howerton on March 11, 1947.

After graduating from Irving High School, he took to the open roads as a truck driver, a profession that allowed him to explore and appreciate the vast beauty of our country.

Larry's hands were alway busy, as he was creating or fixing something. He dabbled with playing the guitar, wood working, firearms, and flying remote airplanes. Larry was also a devoted Freemason.

Predeceased in death by his wife Rebecca Howerton and son Roger Dale Bailey. Larry is survived by his brother, Gerald Howerton and his wife Barbara, his sister, the late Linda Ann Zielinski, and her husband William Anthony, his devoted daughters, Yvonne and her husband Charles Pedder, and Sherry and her husband Jason Barge and grandchildren; Kasey Schmidt, Jessica Pedder, Emilee Hurley, Jacob Barge, and Caleb Barge, and 8 great grandchildren.

Though Larry is no longer with us he has left memories that will resonate forever in the hearts of all who knew him. Larry Gene Howerton will be profoundly missed.
