Lanni Sue Fish, born Lanni Sue Rogers on July 24, 1939, joined her Lord and Savior along with a host of familiar and much loved Angels on Good Friday, April 7th, 2023. Present in her home of 50 years, with her daughters, a hospice nurse with a 30 year career, and her beloved puppy Trinket, Lanni peacefully transitioned to heaven.
Lanni goes to join her parents James M. Rogers and Mary T. Walther Rogers, her cherished husband of 38 years Dale D Fish, Sr., her firstborn son Dale D. Fish, Jr., her grandson Logan Fish, and a menagerie of precious pets. Remaining to celebrate her memory are her son David Fish and his Brittany, daughter Heather Dickens and her Edwin, daughter Robbi Fish-Lake and her Richard, and Carrie Fish wife of Dale, Jr for 37 years. Lanni is also survived by her brother James D Rogers and his wife Lucinda, her closest friend and family member Eloise Varner and husband Jerry, as well as 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Lanni Sue was a nurse for nearly 40 years. She was a published author, including a book covering her journey through grief and healing. She worked as a secretary in her younger years with a lightning fast typing speed. She taught English as a second language through her church and went on mission trips to Mongolia.
She didnt just have a green thumb, she had green hands as anyone who has seen her gardens will attest. As for Southern cooking skills, she was only equaled by her Mom.
Lanni thoroughly enjoyed the decades of friendship with her church friends and the Bunko Bunch (more cowbell). As a great fan of The Andy Griffith show, she made decades of friendships sharing quotes and daily life stories with her community of caring people on the TAGS Porch online. Her foibles as our Dad called them included a vast array of changing interests - macrame, crochet, very brief knitting, ceramics, wreath making - the list goes on.
Lanni was outspoken and stood by her opinions and at the heart of it was her deeply abiding Christian spirit and a desire for a gentler world. She was also the one folks would turn to for comfort during troubled times. She loved all of Gods creatures and was a warrior for their protection.
This world has lost a great spirit as Heaven celebrates a bright Angel.
