KEVIN GAU, a faithful father, husband, brother and best friend, died Monday, November 19, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas at the age of 54. He was a resident of Carrollton, Texas for 28 years. Born August 30, 1958 in Saint Louis, Missouri, he was the son of Edward Charles Gau and Delores June Johnson Gau. Kevin married Laura Campos on September 1, 1984 in Dallas. He attended Covenant Church in Carrollton. A professional carpenter and sports enthusiast, Kevin loved attending baseball games and hockey games. He was a fan of the Texas Rangers, Frisco Rough Riders and the Dallas Stars. Preceded in death by his mother, Delores Gau and aunt, Joyce Vazquez, survivors include his wife, Laura of Carrollton; children, Jonathan Gau of Fairfield, California, Ashley Brehn and husband Nathan of Ft. Polk, Louisiana and Patrick Gau of Hohenfels, Germany; father, Edward C. Gau of St. Louis, Missouri; brother, Jim Gau and wife Kathy of St. Louis; sister, Christine Mataya and husband Tim of Woodland Park, New Jersey; parents-in-law, Antonio and Maria Campos of Dallas; as well as his sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Carrollton in The Parlor with Pastor Rip Cannon officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
