I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.
(Psalm 118: 17)
On the first Sunday of June 1995, at Rhema Church in Johannesburg, South Africa, I answered to the altar call following the sermon. This was not the first time I had said "YES" to Jesus, but the difference was that after answering the call, they asked us to come forward. Soon after the pastors prayer, the ushers formed a line preventing us from going back to our seats, and invited us to follow the servant of God who led us to a private room. There, was a man of God, waiting on us who offered us to take a seat. He then said, "After observing all of you I noticed that none of you checked the chairs before sitting down, to ensure that they were well adjusted and strong enough to support the weight. In addition, no one used their hands to confirm that they were nice and comfortable. You did this because you trusted the carpenter who designed and built that chair without ever having seen, met or known him. I would like to speak to you on FAITH. Without telling him that I was a pilot, the man of God continued to speak. He looked at me and said, The same way, as a pilot, you trusted the navigation system of your aircraft when you needed to land at the Los Angeles airport in California, in the same way you need to have faith in Jesus. You should know that he will guide you with confidence until you reach your final destination. "That day, I realized that my life had taken a new direction. I came to understand in my heart one thing I had never understood before: Faith is to totally surrender my life to Jesus by following his instructions.
