Karen Hoofard, age 52, a resident of Little Elm, Texas for 8 years, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Denton Regional Medical Center. Previously, Karen lived in Irving, Texas for 25 years. She was born October 24, 1957 in Dallas, Texas to the late Thomas Clay Chadwick and Billie Jane Dunn Chadwick. She was an avid reader, advice giver, a true Christian and believer in Christ. She is survived by her husband, Gary L. Hoofard of Little Elm. They married on June 10, 1973 in Houston, Texas. Also surviving are her son, Steven Hoofard of Garland; sister, Vickey Higgins of Fort Worth; and brother, Glenn Hudson of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends at a visitation to be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 12 noon, Friday, May 21, 2010 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
