JOYCE ELIZABETH RANGE, age 90, died Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at an Irving care center. Born October 31, 1923 in Prescott, Arkansas, the daughter of Euless Earl Palmer and Forrest Ward Palmer, she moved to Irving at the age of 14. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Irving since 1937, and a 1941 graduate of Irving High School. In 1945, Joyce married C.J. Range in Rockwall, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Katherine. Survivors include her son, Rick Range of Garland; daughter, Kathy Cox and husband Ron of Irving; grandchildren, Kristi Cox and Jason Cox; great grandchildren, Krystin, Zachary, Ariana and Jaxon; sister, Mary Lou Reid of 29 Palms, California; nephews, Rodney Earl Reid of New York, Richard Reid of California; and longtime family friend, Raymond Cruz of Garland. Visitation will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m., Thursday at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Service is 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 3 at First Baptist Church, 403 South Main Street, Irving. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. The family requests no food or floral offerings. Memorial contributions may be made to Future Generations at First Baptist Church; the Masonic Lodge; or a charity of the donors choice.
