JOYCE MARIE WHITLEY HICKMAN, age 81, of Irving, TX, formerly of Hereford and Amarillo, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in Irving. Born April 8, 1931 in Corpus Christi, she was the widow of John Robert Hickman. She grew up in Corpus Christi, Humble and Uvalde, Texas. She graduated from DelMar College in Corpus Christi and received a master degree in Art at West Texas State University in Canyon, TX. A housewife, mother and artist, she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, White Oak NSDAR, and First Christian Church of Hereford. Survivors include three daughters, Diana Lynn Bentley of Henrietta, TX, Rebecca Jean (Becky) Boettcher and husband Eric of Houston, TX, and Susan Dee (Susie) Hubbard of Irving; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a nephew Roy Borg of Amarillo; and two great nieces. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home in Irving; Entombment will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Park in Amarillo. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to VIP Living Center, 3219 Vinson Court, Irving, TX 75060, where Joyce has lived and received outstanding care for the past 4 years.
