Joy Fay Dickerson, aka Jody, aka Mema, met her Savior face to face on August 30, 2016. Memorial service and celebration: 2pm Friday at Goodrich Memorial United Methodist Church, 200 W. Hayes, Norman, Oklahoma. Officiated by Marc Lowrance. Mema was born August 24, 1932 to Joseph and Katie Woolly in Lula, Oklahoma. She married her love, Robert Eugene Dickerson in 1949 and they had five children. Moving to Texas in 1969, Jody worked as a housekeeper at North Hills Hospital. Her career choice exemplified her character: always caring, picking up people's messes (figuratively and literally), and always with a smile. She loved to crochet, quilt, volunteer at the Senior Center, play cards, and spend time at the lake with her family. Jody is preceded in death by her husband, and daughter Denitia Dickerson Suagee. Survived by children, Denise Boyd and husband, David of Hurst TX, Bob Dickerson and wife, Maria of Denham Springs, LA, William Dickerson, and wife, Cindy, of Springtown, TX and David Dickerson, and his significant other, Kristi of Ft Worth TX, eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, many nieces & nephews and longtime extended family and care giver Tommy Boyd.
