JOSE P. VASQUEZ, age 84, a resident of Irving for 43 years, died Monday, June 22, 2015 at his home. Born May 21, 1931 in Illiff, Colorado, he was the son of Ramon C. and Maria Pinedo Vasquez. He married Erma Hinojosa on May 4, 1955 in Immokalee, Florida. Jose was employed at Kroehler Furniture Manufacturing for 18 years and Vecta Steelcase in Dallas for 18 years. He was a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church in Irving, and a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus there. Survivors include his wife, Erma H. Vasquez of Irving; children, Johnny Vasquez and wife Christine of Stonewall, Louisiana, Rose Dickson and husband Austin of Irving, Rudy Vasquez and wife Lisa of Irving, Joe Vasquez and wife Jen of Firestone, Colorado; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and sister, Santa Perez of Dallas. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 24 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving with the Rosary to be said at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 25 at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church, 2323 Cheyenne Street in Irving with Rev. Msgr. Jerome Duesman as celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane in Dallas.
