Obituary

Johnnie Sue Lancaster Farmer, 86, a long-time resident of Dallas, died Thursday August 5, 2021 at her home. She was born June 1, 1935 in Bemis, Tennessee, to Allie and John Lancaster. She moved to Dallas when she was 16, and received her high school diploma from Trinity Valley in Hutchins, TX. She made a good life for herself in Dallas. Johnnie Sue was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Inez Lancaster Ahern. She is survived by her loving brother Billie Wayne Lancaster of Jackson, Tennessee and sister Janice Ann Lancaster of Sacramento, California. She has two nieces and a nephews and countless cousins and second cousins who will miss her very much. In life, Johnnie Sue was a dedicated worker no matter the company she served. She was the 1987 Gold Medal Winner for the Lord & Taylor store in Northpark being recognized by her peers as an excellent associate. In 1991 she was recognized as an excellent employee by Jewel Osco in Dallas. Johnnie Sue was a celebrated employee of Walmart for over 15 years and honored many times as an employee by Sams Club for her safety record and dedication. She gave much joy and encouragement as an employee, co-worker and friend to all she met. Johnnie Sue loved the Lord and spent endless hours in her Bible every day. She was a member of the Fellowship Church of Dallas. In her later years it was a little challenging at times to communicate as her hearing caused a bit of an issue, but it did not keep her from living the life she loved. Johnnie Sue loved her family and close friends very much. She had a little box of cards and letters that she wrote and received over the years. Johnnie Sue was a collector of many things, yet nothing was more important that her relationship with Jesus. Her family and friends feel a great sadness at the loss of this angel, yet we all know she is in a grand place, home with her Jesus and loved ones she missed dearly. Johnnie Sue will be interred at a later date with her parents at Highland Memorial Gardens in Jackson, TN. In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice in Johnnie Sue's name.
