Johnetta Courtney, age 76, a resident of Irving since 1973, died Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at her home. Born January 20, 1942 in Paris, Texas, she was the daughter of the late John Calvin Wood and Alice Viola Shannon Wood. She married Marion Courtney July 23, 1965 in Wichita Falls, Texas. A Master Florist, she owned and operated with her husband A Courtney Castle Florist in Irving form 1988 - 2004. She was a member of the Irving Chamber of Commerce and the Texas State Floral Association. Survivors include her husband Marion of Irving; a daughter Bonnie Elwood and her husband Jason of Irving; a sister, Alice Margaret Walters and husband James of Irving; and two grandchildren, Megan Scott and Calvin Elwood. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Rev. Victoria Heard will officiate.
