John William Rice passed away peacefully Tuesday December 12, 2017. John was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Rice and Evelyn Foshee Rice, and his brother Eddie Rice. John was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN where he worked for the Arnold Palmer Golf Company for 30 years. When he moved to Texas he worked for United Sports Technologies before retiring in 2006. John was an avid golfer and ultimate Texas Ranger fan. John is survived by his wife Lori Walker Rice; his daughters Pam Hilton and husband Jerry of Middle Valley, TN, and Stacie Rice of Chattanooga, TN, his son John Rice Jr. and wife Nancy of Rock Springs, GA, as well Loris sons Joe Walker Jr. of Springtown, TX, Adam Walker and wife Carrie of Alvord, TX and daughter Amy Loffreda of Fort Worth, TX; his sister Elizabeth Henderson of Chattanooga, TN; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and other family members and a host of friends. A special thank you to Loris sister Julie Wood as she was a selfless and tireless caregiver for John. The family will receive friends at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway, Irving, Texas 75062 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 17, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday, December 18th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church, 2323 Cheyenne Street, Irving, TX 75062. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimers Association or a charity of your choice. SERVICES
