Joellen Jody Carr Fletcher Jody, 61, of Irving, Texas died Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at her home. She was born March 4, 1948 in Pampa, Texas. Her career included working in public schools (IISD), Tom Thumb Deli, Sub Shop, and A-Line Answering Service. Her favorite pastime activities were baking, oil painting, sewing, knitting, watching Dallas Stars hockey, Dallas Cowboys football and figure skating, spending time with family and doing for others. No guest ever spent the night in her house without hearing about the Gospel of Jesus. She was preceded in death by her parents, Letty Jo Dial and Norman Carr; her step-father, Robert Dial; and her daughter-in-law, Wendi Hicks. Survivors include her husband, Richard Fletcher; son, Harley Hicks; daughter, Angelia Hicks; sisters, Deanna Stein and Norma Ruth Dixon; brothers, Robert and David Carr; and her beloved grandchildren, Amanda Weiss, Taylor Hicks, Tannin Hicks and Rose Bailey-Hicks. Visitation and viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 15, 2009 from 6PM-8PM. Services will be Saturday, May 16 at 2PM at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
