Memorial Services for Joel M. Purrington, 34, of Irving, TX will be at 4 P.M. Sunday, August 7, 2022, in the Chapel of Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home of Irving, 606 West Airport Freeway, Irving. Friends may also visit from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. Sunday in the Funeral Home. Rev. DeAnna Golsan will officiate. Joel was the son of Jay David and Lisa Andersen Purrington. He was born Mach 14, 1988 in Walla Walla, Washington, and passed away Monday, July 25 in Irving, Texas. Joel was a wonderful and creative son and brother. He was always thinking and coming up with new ideas to make the world a better place. He claimed he was "the idea man" and his siblings were designated to execute the ideas. Most of the time, the idea was out of their reach; however, Joel was quite the animal lover and his latest grand idea of starting his own no-kill animal rescue was successfully realized as the Purrington Animal Rescue. Joels creativity led him to painting and wood working, always with the intent of giving his creations to somebody special. He was able to fix anything and was extremely handy to have around the house when the dishwasher broke, the car stopped working, or whatever needed repair. He enjoyed cooking and loved trying new restaurants of all varieties. Left to cherish the memory of Joel are his sister, Tiana Jones; his brother, David Purrington; his mother, Lisa Andersen Purrington; and his father, Jay Purrington with his wife, Kathleen Purrington, and her son Stephen Galvan. He will also be cherished by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. We will miss his infectious sense of humor, brilliant smile, charming nature, and thoughtfulness. He will always be a part of our life.
