Joe Allen Vardeman, age 83, passed away, Thursday, January 13, 2011 in Duncanville. Born on January 18, 1927 in Mart, Texas, he was a veteran of WW II and the Korean War, and a graduate of Baylor University. He began his business career as Chamber of Commerce Manager in Kerrville and later in Irving. He was Vice President of Irving State Bank and owner of Rose-Zels Florist. He retired from the realty business. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Irving. Preceded in death by his wife, Nell; son, Jeff; daughter Vicki; parents, Bud and Sis; and brother, Bill, he is survived by daughter Kelley and husband Bill Bassett; grandchildren Emily, Andrea, Jo Nell and Phillip; several great grandchildren; brothers, Martice, Jerry, and Don. Family visitation was 5:00 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 W. Airport Freeway in Irving. The funeral was 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2011 in the funeral home chapel. Burial was at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
