Joe Garcia Valdez, 74, a resident of Irving, died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at a local care center. Born February 27, 1944 in Alma, Michigan, he was the son of the late Albert Valdez, Sr. and Cecilia Garcia Valdez. He grew up in Brownfield, Texas, attended Sunset College of Ministry in Lubbock, lived in Andrews for seven years, and Dimmitt for seven years. He was in Security at MBNA Bank in Addison for over ten years before his retirement. He was a member of Brown Trail Church of Christ. Preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Elisa Valdez in 1964; and siblings, Carmen Rodriguez, Elva Valdez, Elizabeth "Chave" Saldonia and Baudelio Flores; he is survived by his wife Audenia M. Valdez of Irving; his children, Victor Vicente Valdez, Jose Ruben Valdez, Raquel Veronica Valdez, Benjamin Nicolas Valdez, and Marta Alicia Valdez, all of Irving. Siblings, Albert Valdez, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Mary Gonzales of Freeport, Margarita Campos of Andrews, and Luis Valdez of Kerrville; four grandchildren, Ariana Zavala, Jonathan Valdez, Nicolas Valdez, and Leonard Valdez. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway. The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Christ Church, 1750 East Airport Freeway in Irving. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 East Irving Blvd. SERVICES
