William Joseph "Joe" Mapes, Jr. 81, a resident of Euless since 2000, a long-time business owner and operator of car washes, died Sunday, October 16, 2022 at an Arlington hospital. Born May 25, 1941 in Birmingham, Alabama, he was the son of William Joseph Mapes, Sr. and Wilma A Collins Mapes. He served in the U S Army. He was preceded in death by his first wife Joan in 2001. He married Debbra Wilson Brown March 23, 2007. He was a member of the Small Businessmans Association of Euless and the Southwest Car Wash Association. Survivors include his wife Debbra of Euless; son, William Joseph Mapes, III (Bill) and his wife Kelly of Irving; step-children, Jennifer Wilharm and husband Todd of Keller, Jessica Ingle and husband Lee of Stephenville, David Brown of North Richland Hills, and Tara Sims of Hawaii; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022 at the Pavilion at Bear Creek Cemetery in Euless.
