Joe A. Maldonado, 79, of Irving, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017. He was born August 27, 1937 in El Paso, Texas to the late Roberto and Lydia (Paredes) Maldonado. He was married to Maria Mary Magdalena Ortiz on February 17, 1957. Joe was a joker and story teller, entertaining many people over the years. He served as Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator for the Irving Knights of Columbus #5243. He will be missed by all. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Mary Elizabeth Maldonado; son Jose A, Maldonado, Jr.; brothers: Ed Maldonado and Ruben Maldonado. Survivors include wife Mary Maldonado; Children: Patsy Reed and husband Phil of Mesquite, Debra Echavarria of Irving, Jonathan and wife Stephanie Maldonado of Lubbock, Jennifer Maldonado of Dallas and Simon Peter Maldonado of Fort Worth; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings: Galo Maldonado, Carlos Maldonado, Martha Hamilton and Maggie Salazar. Funeral Mass: March 31st at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church in Irving TX. Burial was at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, Irving, Texas 75060. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
