Jo Gaylen Chanslor of Irving, TX passed away March 5, 2022. She was born on January 12, 1947 in Plano, TX to Evelyn Marie (Thomas) and Billy Joe Cole. A loving, caring, outgoing person, she was a loyal friend to many and a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She cherished her family and if you werent blood, Jo would make you feel like you were a member of her clan anyway. She appreciated and supported her friends and was known as a caregiver to many. Jo enjoyed road trips, playing Free Cell on her gaming device and nurturing her beloved dogs, Tucker and Rocky. Preceded in death by her dear friend Mary Hill, she is survived by her loving, devoted wife, Rhonda Nelson; son, Jesse Chanslor and his wife Christi; sister, Sheila Hunt and her husband Jim; niece, Ashley Lide and nephew, Jeremy Kinney. She is also survived by her "adopted in spirit" children, Mario Hernandez and his wife Conchis and their children Nataly, Mireya and Mario Jr. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday March 11th at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, with a visitation one hour prior to service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
