Jerry M. Winn, 79, a retired long-time educator, principal, and coach in the Irving Independent School District, died Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at his home. Born August 1, 1940 in Dallas, he was the son of the late Charles William Winn and Sara Virginia Mathis Winn. He received a Masters Degree in Education from North Texas State College (now North Texas University) and worked in the Irving ISD from 1964 1996. He was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. A 32nd degree Mason, he was a member of The Irving Masonic Lodge and the Tanne Hill Masonic Lodge in Dallas. He married Judith Kay Onstott, August 21, 1956 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Judy September 28, 2010 and by his daughter Debi Hummert, June 29, 2016 both also long-time Irving ISD educators and administrators. Survivors include a son Jimmy Winn and wife Krista of Chandler, Texas; son-in-law, Mike Hummert of Irving; four grandchildren, April Hummert and husband Scott Tarver of Euless, Lyndsey Hill and husband Adam of Grapevine, Matt Hummert and wife Kelli of Irving and Kelly Steed and husband Aaron of Irving; and nine great grandchildren, Skylar Hummert Tarver, Ryleigh Pugh, Mollie Hummert, Michael Hummert, Emilie Hummert, Jackson Hill, Rex Hill, Sloane Hill, and Camdyn Hill. The family will receive friends 6:00 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. The funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2019 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park, 6000 South R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75232 SERVICES
